The Heart of a Lighthouse
What is light beyond the science? Surely light cannot be adequately defined by the mere limits of applied techniques and subsequent practicalities. For such rationale falls far too short of interpreting the mysterious secrets light alludes to within each radiant gleam.
Of course light can be seen by the eye and its intended message of guidance is processed by the mind of the prudent mariner, but light’s earnestness inexplicably goes beyond this methodology. In going beyond, light’s fervor proves exceedingly inward. Its fascinating influence stirs our innermost emotions and sparks the flame of hope within us.
Aspects of logic can certainly be applied to this musing, but if the heart alone can fathom such depth of meaning and all that is unseen, then it must be concluded that light is part real and part spiritual.
For light cannot be held by human hands, but only by the heart. Light illuminates the astonishing notion that reality is much more than we can discern with our senses. Thus, if reality is layered and dimensional in nature, then a beacon’s light is surely transcendent in its capacity to go beyond simply serving as a guiding light upon the sea. For you and me, it is much more than that!
