Giving Back to the Lights
The preservation watch over our lighthouses has no end. This fact inspired me to write the following…
We don’t know where our lighthouse trails lead in the time ahead, but we do know we won’t be coming back this way again. The journey is a one way trip, its destination – unknown. Yet we need not know the outcome to justify a deep love for the lights. It is enough to know that together we came, we saw, we gave our all. So do what you can, while you can. For lighthouses need each of us – our time, our skills, and most of all, our devotion. And be sure to make those memories, share the fun – and the heritage, and always cherish the shine of each moment. For as the First Lady of Light – Connie Small, once said, “I did my part.” Let’s do the same!
